Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Interventions & SATs Support

Contract: Full-time / Term-time

Ortus Recruitment is looking for a motivated and experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting academic progress and helping pupils prepare for their end-of-year SATs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Year 6 class teacher across all areas of learning.
• Deliver targeted small-group and 1:1 interventions.
• Lead SATs refresher sessions to raise attainment and boost confidence.
• Provide classroom support, including behaviour management and resource preparation.
• Work closely with teaching staff to track progress and adapt support where needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting KS2 pupils (ideally Year 6).
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
