About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Croydon. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers and helping to create a positive and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils’ academic and social progress
• Support children with additional learning needs, including SEND and EAL
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging activities
• Foster a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment
• Help with behaviour management and promote positive behaviour strategies
• Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtime, and on school outings
• Keep records of pupil progress and share observations with the teacher

About You:

• A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
• Friendly, approachable, and able to work effectively within a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Patient, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Committed to safeguarding and upholding the school’s values

Requirements:

• Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3) – desirable
• Experience in a primary school or educational setting – preferred
• Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
• Suitable references
