Teaching Assistant – Croydon – Full-time
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Croydon. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers and helping to create a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils’ academic and social progress
- Support children with additional learning needs, including SEND and EAL
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging activities
- Foster a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment
- Help with behaviour management and promote positive behaviour strategies
- Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtime, and on school outings
- Keep records of pupil progress and share observations with the teacher
About You:
- A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
- Friendly, approachable, and able to work effectively within a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Patient, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Committed to safeguarding and upholding the school’s values
Requirements:
- Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3) – desirable
- Experience in a primary school or educational setting – preferred
- Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
