Ortus Recruitment are looking for several Teaching Assistants for long-term roles to work within a lovely primary school located in Caterham. You will be assisting the class Teacher by helping identified students to learn as effectively as possible, both independently and in group situations.

The role:

As a Teaching Assistant you will be apart of the school team. You will be supporting the class Teacher, keeping track of pupils’ progression, reporting back, and communicating with the Teacher. You will work with small groups of children and 1:1 where necessary, encouraging independent learning as well as organising creative and educational activities.

The ideal candidate:

· Have existing experience of working with children in an educational context.

· A positive and caring approach with previous experience of supporting children.

· Demonstrate what additional and different learning techniques you have to help close the gap between lower and higher-level ability pupils.

· Be willing to commit to a 5 day a week role.

· An approachable and professional manner.

· Be enthusiastic and energetic, with positive behaviour management skills.

· Adaptability and flexibility in working practises and the ability to know when to use initiative.

· Have a strong academic background with strong literacy and numeracy skills.

· Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge children.

· Have positive working relationships with children, staff, and parents.

· Will be available to start immediately.
