Graduate Learning Support Assistant (September 2026 Start)

Ortus Recruitment is looking to appoint a passionate and motivated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join one of our highly regarded partner school in Brixton from September 2026. This welcoming mainstream primary school has been awarded a ‘GOOD’ Ofsted rating and prides itself on providing an inclusive learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially. This is a full-time, long-term position, working Monday to Friday, with excellent opportunities to secure a permanent contract.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school or similar educational setting.
  • A degree in any subject (Psychology, Education, English, Maths, Science, Performing Arts, or related disciplines are advantageous).
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils who require additional support.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to work with children displaying a range of learning and behavioural needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting young learners.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, reliability, and excellent attendance.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider school team.
