The Role

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring they remain engaged, motivated, and able to access their education successfully.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, or additional learning needs
• Implementing positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches to encourage engagement and self-regulation
• Supporting pupils who may experience difficulties with social interaction, emotional regulation, or classroom routines
• Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and adapting learning activities where appropriate
• Monitoring pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records when required
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
• Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence within learning environments
• Supporting the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to pupil wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
