Ortus Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive partnered primary school based in Nine Elms, who are seeking a Classroom Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. Our partnered school is a two-form entry primary school with a lovely school community and have a very supportive senior leadership team, who strive to see pupils to achieve academically. This is a fantastic opportunity for a patient, dedicated, and empathetic individual who is eager to make a real difference in the lives of pupils.

Position Details:

• Role: Classroom Assistant
• Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
• Location: Primary School in Nine Elms
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Pay: £89 – £105 per day (PAYE – no umbrella deductions)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs including Autism, ADHD, and Learning Difficulties
• Deliver one-to-one and group interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
• Assist in implementing and adapting learning plans to meet individual needs
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and external specialists

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN
• Previous experience working with children with additional needs is preferred but not essential
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to day-to-day tasks
• Willingness to apply for a new Enhanced Child Workforce DBS if not registered on the Update Service
