Ortus Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and resilient Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our partner school situated in the London Borough of Barnet with a ‘Good‘ Ofsted rating. The ideal candidate will build excellent rapports with staff and pupils, you will motivate them to reach targets and raise attainment while promoting a safe and inclusive environment for development to thrive.

This is the perfect oppurtunity for a recent Graduate who is looking to gain more experience within a school enviroment with the potential for career progression and Teacher Training in partnership with the school.

The successful individual will:

• Be assertive, patient and supportive
• Manage behaviour effectively
• Promote positive social, emotional and personal development
• Work with and support pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Lead numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups
• Engage pupils with curriculum regardless of background and ability

Main Expectations:

• 3-6 months experience working with SEN children
• Minimum 2:2 grade in relevant degree e.g. psychology or childhood studies
• Competent numeracy/literacy skills
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
