Ortus Recruitment is excited to be working with a highly regarded and inclusive primary school in Tooting, currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This “Outstanding” Ofsted-rated school is known for its supportive leadership, high academic standards, and commitment to ensuring every pupil—regardless of background or additional needs—receives an exceptional education. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to gain meaningful classroom experience, particularly those considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or child development.

This is a full-time role (Monday – Friday, 08:30am – 16:00pm), offering hands-on experience supporting pupils across the primary age range, including those with SEN and additional behavioural needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A creative, proactive, and engaging approach to supporting teaching and learning
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and pupils
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and reliability
  • High attention to detail and a professional attitude
  • Experience working with children in any capacity, such as:
    • Primary school support
    • Youth work or youth clubs
    • Sports coaching
    • Tutoring or mentoring
    • Nannying or childcare roles
  • A relevant degree (e.g. English, Psychology, Performing Arts, Maths, Science, etc.)
