Year 3 Teaching Assistant | Vauxhall | £93 – £107 PAYE | Full Time | Immediate Start

Ortus Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a friendly and well-established primary school in Vauxhall, who are seeking a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class.

This “Good” Ofsted-rated school is known for its supportive senior leadership team, welcoming environment, and strong focus on pupil development. The role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support learning, while also providing targeted 1:1 support for pupils with behavioural needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced Teaching Assistant looking to secure a full-time position in a supportive mainstream primary setting.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Assist with behaviour management, promoting a positive and focused learning environment
• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with behavioural needs when required
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support both academic and social development
• Encourage participation, confidence, and independence within the classroom

Requirements:

• A degree in a core subject (e.g. Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Drama) or relevant qualification
• Previous experience working with children in a professional or structured setting
• Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation and time management
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting challenging behaviour
