Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Lambeth that is seeking enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring educational psychologists, therapists, teachers, or individuals passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives.
The school is recruiting for several SEND support positions across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, including:
• SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 ASD Support
• SEND Teaching Assistant – ADHD Support
• SEND Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support Specialist
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers, therapists, and the school’s inclusion team to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help create a positive learning environment, deliver targeted interventions, and encourage pupils to reach their full potential both academically and socially.
The Role:
• Supporting pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Delivering tailored interventions and learning activities
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• Encouraging pupil engagement and participation in lessons
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Helping to create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

• A graduate or individual with a genuine interest in SEND and education
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• A positive, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative and enthusiastic individuals who can engage and motivate pupils
• A commitment to supporting children with additional needs to achieve their best outcomes
