Graduate Teaching Assistant
The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Teaching Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘, provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a Year 6 Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Brent. You will play a fundamental role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.
Role: Year 6 Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term, Term-Time
Location: London Borough of Camden
Start Date: Immediate Start
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Year 6 as well as adept knowledge of the KS2 curriculum to effectively engage children in lessons and interventions in order to raise attainment and prepare pupils for SATs. You will also be expected to be a role model for pupils, help to create a positive learning environment and foster excellent behaviour. A childcare-related qualification is ideal but not necessary, as long as you are proactive and dedicated, this job is for you!
Teaching Assistant Role:
- Work directly with classroom teacher on daily activities and lessons
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, classroom staff and support staff to create an environment that encourages learning and growth
- Assist in creating lesson plans based on goals for each child based on their individual abilities and needs
- Lead core subject interventions in small groups to raise attainment
- Support students in the lead up to SATs examinations
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related qualification
- Experience working in classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
