Ortus Recruitment is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to support a child in a year 1 class with challenging behaviour, as a KS1 Classroom Assistant at a reputable mainstream primary school in Wandsworth. This role will be a full-time vacancy for the successful candidate and our partnered primary school will be holding trials during the start of the new academic year.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52)
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• Recent Graduate
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math
• Available to work Full-Time: Monday – Friday (8:30am – 4pm)

Please Note: We welcome applicants with degrees beyond this or relevant qualifications for working with children.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking an individual who:

• Has experience working with children in relevant capacities such as coaching, nannying, or tutoring
• Possesses a ‘Can do’ attitude and a passion for helping children develop life skills
• Is adept at building positive rapport with both staff and students
• Can start immediately and commit to full-time, long-term work

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

• Support a child in a Year 1 Class as well as supporting other aspects in the classroom alongside the Class Teacher
• Conduct 1:1 intervention with the child in question to enable them to enhance their learning
• Assist with administrative tasks such as marking class/homework and managing reading diaries
