Here at Ortus Recruitment we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant ‘Outstanding’ Mainstream Primary Schools. The school are seeking someone who can come in and hit the ground running, making an instant impact and building positive rapports with both staff and students.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

Requirements:

• You must have experience supporting children in a care, residential, school or social setting (coaching, nannying, tutoring, youth work)
• You must be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students
• You must be confident in working 1:1 and with small groups
• You must have a ‘Can do’ attitude
• You must be passionate about working with children and dedicated in raising their academic attainment level

Within this role, you will be responsible for assisting the class teacher in supporting a Year 2 class. The class has 20 students and is predominantly mainstream but does have some learners with Special Educational Needs. You will be a General Teaching Assistant supporting all of the students but will sometimes be tasked with working 1:1 and in small groups.
