The Job Role:

· Position: Unqualified Classroom Assistant

· Pay:£80 – £95 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees

· Location: Southwark, Nunhead

· Job Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate will:

· Have experience working alongside children and/or vulnerable adults/young people in a care, residential, school or social setting

· Be able to start immediately, and commit to full time, long term work

· Be able to reliably commute to Southwark,Nunhead

· Have a natural kind and nurturing nature

· Have a natural passion for working with children and be dedicated in helping them develop skills in all aspects of their life, including, socially, emotionally and mentally

· Have two obtainable relevant references

· Have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

Main Responsibilities:

· The successful candidate will be required to assist the Class Teacher in supporting a year 5 class

· The successful candidate will need to be confident in working with small groups of learners, helping to raise their academic attainment in core subjects

· Assisting the Class Teacher with behaviour management, help to maintain a positive and productive learning environment

· You will be required to supervise the children whilst they do activities in class and also around the school building, in the lunch hall and playground

· Providing feedback to both the Class Teacher and the parents/carers, feedback about the learners day and academic progress they’re making

· Build a positive rapport with pupils and staff

· Administrative duties, marking classwork/homework, signing reading diaries and photocopying/laminating worksheets
