Ortus Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist school that is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils throughout the school day. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching assistants and school staff to ensure pupils are safe, engaged, and well supported during lunchtime and transition periods. The working hours will be from 11:30am – 2pm, Monday till Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the safety, welfare, and well-being of all pupils at all times.
• Supervising pupils during lunch and supporting positive social interaction.
• Assisting with the setup of the dining hall from approximately 12:15pm (with support from another staff member).
• Supporting pupils with personal hygiene needs where required.
• Providing assistance to teaching assistants and offering light classroom support.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Undertaking basic first aid duties when necessary and reporting any concerns appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or support setting.
• Demonstrate a caring, patient, and flexible approach.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident working as part of a collaborative team.
• Show strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Have good time management and organisational abilities.
• Be able to interact with pupils, parents, and colleagues with tact and sensitivity.
• Have a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
• Hold First Aid training (desirable but not essential).
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and contributing to their development.
