Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream Primary school in Raynes park and they are seeking a motivated, highly educated Primary Classroom Assistant. This is a full time – long term role, therefore if you apply you need to ensure you have this availability. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a professional setting, and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

The successful candidate will :

• You will be required to work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their work and activities
• You will be responsible for supervising pupils in the classroom and around the school building, maintaining a safe learning environment
•  You will be required to lead 1:1 and small group interventions in order to raise academic attainment
• You will be required to liaise with the class teacher and parents to provide academic feedback and progress
•  You will be required to undertake administrative duties, such as marking classwork/homework and signing reading diaries.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Will have experience working in a Classroom Setting within a School or Social setting
• Will be passionate about working alongside children and helping them to develop life skills
• Will be dedicated to providing an engaging learning environment for pupils
• Will be able to build a positive rapport with pupils and staff as well as helping to maintain a positive working environment amongst staff
• Will have a strong academic background and be confident in leading 1:1 and small group interventions
