Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school in Mitcham and they are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant ready to commit to a full time – long term role, making a positive change in primary education. The ideal candidate will have more than a years’ experience working with SEN children in a professional setting and excellent communication skills.

The role :

• Position : SEN Teaching Assistant
• Location : Mitcham
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• £80-£90 PAYE
• 8:30am-4:00pm

Within this role :

• Support pupils in their social development and their emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate;
• Share information about pupils with other staff, parents / carers, internal and external agencies, as appropriate in line with school policies and procedures;
•  Assist in the development of pupil support plans (such as EHC and Myplan outcomes);
• Support the work of volunteers and other teaching assistants in the classroom;
•  Undertake pupil record keeping and maintenance of records as requested; • Invigilate examinations and tests;
• Assist with the supervision of pupils before school, break times, lunchtimes (not as a supervisory assistant) and after school clubs if required;
