Ortus Recruitment is delighted to be working with a wonderful primary school in the Kennington area, seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join their team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs. This role is perfect for a recent graduate who is looking to get into the field of education or for teaching assistants who seek a change of environment. The working hours will be from 08:30am – 4:00pm, from Monday to Friday TTO.

Role Overview
As a Learning Mentor, you will be working closely with students who have SEN, helping them overcome barriers to learning and supporting their individual educational needs. You will collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide targeted assistance that enables these students to thrive academically and socially within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
• Work alongside teachers to implement SEN strategies and ensure inclusive learning environments.
• Support the development of students’ academic skills, promoting independence and confidence.
• Help foster positive behaviour and emotional development through personalised support.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A Level 3 CACHE qualification or equivalent in education support or a related field.
• Experience or a strong understanding of supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
• A passion for working with children and helping them succeed in their education.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
