Ortus Recruitment is excited to partner with a wonderful mainstream primary school in the Lambeth North area, who are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Helper to support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives and helping them thrive in a supportive learning environment. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential, and full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and reach their potential.
• Assist in delivering tailored interventions to support pupils’ learning and emotional development.
• Work alongside teachers and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies and plans.
• Support the management of behaviours by using appropriate strategies and techniques.
• Ensure the classroom remains a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all children.
• Provide care and supervision during playtimes and other school activities.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: While prior experience working with children is beneficial, it is not essential. A genuine interest in supporting SEN pupils is a must.
• Qualifications: No formal qualifications are required, but GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) are desirable.
• Attributes: Patience, positivity, and a proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
• Teamwork: Ability to work closely with other staff to support the development and well-being of each child.
