Teaching Assistant
The team at Ortus Recruitment work in collaboration with Primary/SEN schools and bring them together with individuals looking for opportunities in the education sector. We work with a number of schools, all rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted, with supportive senior leadership teams and opportunities for further career progression.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding‘ Primary School in the heart of Wandsworth. As an Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children.
Duties:
– Provide care and support to children in a safe and stimulating environment
– Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities
– Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
– Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured learning
– Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals involved in the child’s care
Experience:
– Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting
– Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for working with children with diverse and complex needs
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
– Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
– Understanding of EYFS Framework
