The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to provide high-quality support across the school, helping to create engaging learning experiences while promoting confidence, independence, and positive behaviour amongst pupils. This role would particularly suit graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or child development, as the school strongly supports professional progression and offers valuable hands-on classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups to support learning and progress
• Assisting children with literacy, numeracy, and classroom activities
• Helping to maintain a calm, positive, and purposeful learning environment
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and social development
• Supporting children with varying learning abilities and ensuring all pupils remain engaged
• Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines
• Promoting positive behaviour and acting as a strong role model within the classroom
• Building positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, tutoring, or youth work setting
• Possess strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Be calm, patient, and adaptable in a classroom environment
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
• Be able to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team
• Show initiative and a willingness to contribute positively to school life
